Research Topics:

  • Acquisition of Cardiovascular Images: To improve the spatio-temporal resolution of CMR images by developing novel and adapting existing undersampled reconstruction methods that exploit a priori structure and data redundancy.
  • Quantification of Cardiovascular Parameters: To quantify local and non-invasive biomechanical and hemodynamic parameters in the vessel wall and myocardium integrating numerical models into high spatiotemporal resolution images at the post-processing stage.
  • Preliminary Clinical Studies; To find novel quantitative CMR parameters of cardiac function and hemodynamics that allows to differentiate between healthy volunteers and patients with atherosclerosis and HF.
  • Studies in a pre-clinical model: To identify early images-derived biomarkers that would predict the progression of the atherosclerotic and HF disease.
